Constructing Excellence Liverpool are proud to work in close collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) and we are delighted to share the highlights of the event with our members
LJMU is piloting this new approach to introduce employers to the degree apprenticeships that are to be launched from September 2015. This event was aimed at raising awareness of the scheme which can give employers an opportunity to access funding to support the university tuition fees and additional training costs of future (and possibly existing) part time degree students in the construction and property disciplines. The degree apprenticeships are mapped against a set of standards, one for each discipline, these have been termed trailblazer standards.
There were nearly 30 participants representing 23 different organizations. The time with a coffee at the beginning of the event gave space for participants to broaden their network and everyone’s’ conversation headed towards trailblazer standards at the end of the event. The success of the event was marked through the interest showed by the participants through the questions raised during the session.
