SUMMARY:The Future Homes Standard… What does it mean for Affordable Housing?
DESCRIPTION:A team of industry colleagues formed a Roundtable Discussion Panel a year ago\, with the aim of proactively formulating a solution to delivering the Future Homes standard on Affordable Housing Developments. \nThe Future Homes Standard is a step introduced by the Government to achieving net zero emissions by 2050 and is to be enforced in 2025 as a requirement for all new domestic buildings. \nThe Roundtable Panel will discuss their findings around viability\, buildability\, design\, capital costs\, renewable technologies\, market conditions and energy efficiency/output\, compared to current Building Regulations standards. \nThe Panel will also present a Future Homes development proposal\, for which it is intended to deliver a pilot project in the North West in the coming months. \nWith the imminent Building Regulations Part L\, F\, O and S uplifts in June 2022\, this is an excellent opportunity to find out how the standard can be delivered on housing projects today.

SUMMARY:CLOCS City Inspiration Event Liverpool - Sponsored by Brigade
DESCRIPTION:These free-to-attend\, 2-hour events are delivered in partnership with RTPI\, CIOB and ICE and sponsored by Brigade \nAttend one of our City Inspiration events to hear first-hand from leading planners\, construction clients\, principal contractors and fleet operators who are already benefiting from implementing the CLOCS Standard (Construction Logistics and Community Safety) – working together to save lives\, money\, emissions and reputation. \nUnderstand how implementing CLOCS can help to eliminate the risk of serious injury to pedestrians/cyclists\, improve construction logistics\, reduce complaints\, and protect your organisation’s reputation. The problem: Collisions with HGVs\, many of which are servicing our construction projects\, contribute to the deaths and life changing injuries of over 500 pedestrians\, cyclists and motorcyclists on our roads every year. \nDid you know? This equates to 2 people every working day. That is 4 times more fatalities beyond the hoardings than within. \nThese preventable collisions are costing us all dearly – financially\, socially and ethically. £2m per survivor pay-outs are funded by our insurance premiums\, reputations are damaged with loss of earnings and trauma experienced by the casualty\, driver\, witnesses and families alike. CLOCS is the solution: Many organisations across the UK are now specifying CLOCS through planning/procurement conditions and monitoring implementation. This positive action can help to win work\, safeguards business reputation and demonstrates a commitment to CSR. \nSimple actions involving CLOCS by planners\, construction clients\, principal contractors and fleet operators consistently reduce collisions by 47%\, reduce complaints by 36% and consistently reduce costs too. \n\nFeaturing speakers from CLOCS Key Stakeholder groups:\nAgenda: \n8.30 – Registration\, refreshments and networking \n9.00 – Welcome and introductions – Chair – Kate Cairns – CLOCS/ICE \n9.10 – Planning Authority – Richard Banks – Transport for Greater Manchester \n9.30 – Client – TBC \n9.50 – Contractor – Kerry-Anne Ellis – Willmott Dixon \n10.10 – Fleet Operator – Adrian Wanford – Balfour Beatty \n10.30 – Open forum – Q&A \n11.00 – Close and further networking \nBook your place here!\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT BRIGADE – EVENT SPONSOR: \nBrigade Electronics is a market leader of safety devices\, with solutions to suit all commercial vehicles and mobile plant. \nSince 1976 when we introduced the very first reversing alarm to Europe\, we have championed the cause of vehicle and plant safety and continue to lead the way\, pioneering many products and developing and patenting new technology. \n\n\nBrigade’s solutions reduce the risk of collisions and protect vulnerable road users by minimising vehicle blind-spots and assisting drivers to manoeuvre safely. Our product portfolio includes 360° camera systems\, camera monitor systems\, White Sound® reversing alarms\, obstacle detection sensors\, obstacle detection radar and digital recorders. \n\n\n\n\nFor more information contact Samantha Page CLOCS Project Manager on 07583 282 490 / E: samantha@secbe.org.uk
